Protecting Our Healthcare: Teach In for Action
DoTheMostGood MoCo May Meeting
Monday, May 22, 2017, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Montgomery Blair High School, Silver Spring
The GOP rammed their Trumpcare bill through the House last week, without even allowing those who elected them to office to read the bill language. Maryland’s own (and only Republican) Representative Andy Harris voted for it, despite the fact that more than 50 percent of his non-elderly constituents have pre-existing conditions. We have to fight back, for all of us and for them, and the best way to do that is to learn all we can about the state of healthcare in Maryland and beyond.
Hear from Consumer Health First Executive Director Jeananne Sciabarra and Board Member Mary Lou Fox on how the Affordable Care Act has changed our healthcare system, its shortcomings, the ongoing efforts to repeal and replace it, first in the House and next in the Senate, and what WE can do to protect it.
The meeting will also include an update on DoTheMostGood MoCo actions and upcoming plans in other key areas including immigration, environment and midterm elections.
The event is free and we encourage you to invite your friends. Space is limited, so please RSVP.
