Our Partners

Jacob and Hilda Blaustein Foundation supports organizations that promote systemic change, involve constituents in planning and decision-making, encourage volunteer and professional development and engage in ongoing program evaluation. They have provided Consumer Health First with a generous grant to support our efforts in health care reform.

Community Catalyst - Community Catalyst's mission is to organize and sustain a powerful consumer voice to ensure that all individuals and communities can influence the local, state and national decisions that affect their health. Sign up for their news and emails.

Consumers Union is the policy and action division of Consumer Reports. They work with activists to pass consumer protection laws in states and in Congress. They hold corporations accountable, and encourage companies that are heading in the right direction.

Families USA is a leading national voice for health care consumers, and is dedicated to the achievement of high-quality, affordable health care and improved health for all. They advance their mission through public policy analysis, advocacy, and collaboration with partners to promote a patient-and community-centered health system.

Maryland State Agencies such as the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE), which established Maryland’s state-based health insurance exchange, and Maryland Health Connection, which builds a strong infrastructure to support the marketplace by working with health insurance carriers, insurance producers, assisters and advocates.

National Health Law Program (NHeLP) defends the nation’s health care safety net for those most in need and those with the fewest resources.  They fight to give at-risk populations a voice in federal policy making, promote the rights of consumers in emerging managed-care systems, and advocate for creative solutions that preserve the government’s responsibility as the provider of last resort. NHeLP advocates, educates and litigates at the federal and state levels. Sign up for their news and emails.

National Womens Health Network was founded in 1975 to change the conversation about women’s health. They perform consumer advocacy, shape policy and support consumer health decisions; monitor the actions of Federal regulatory and funding agencies, the health care industry, and the health professions; identify and expose health care abuses; and mobilize grassroots action for women’s health. You can become a member here.

The National Women's Law Center champions laws and policies that work for women and families.  Sign up for their emails.  The NWLC gave us a grant to help us educate our legislators, our partners and the public about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) and its implementation in Maryland. Consumer Health First conducted many outreach activities with this NWLC sponsorship.

Open Society Institute - Baltimore seeks to implement a range of initiatives to advance justice, education, public health, and independent media. Sign up for their email news. Consumer Health First has received a grant from OSI-B, which provides critical resources to extend our health care reform agenda and our work with current and new partners.

Raising Women's Voices  is a national initiative working to make sure women’s voices are heard and women’s concerns are addressed as policymakers put the health care law into action. You can sign up to receive their news. Consumer Health First serves as RWV's Regional Coordinator.
