At its 10th Anniversary Celebration – To Your Health! – the Maryland Women’s Coalition for Health Care Reform last night announced its new name: Consumer Health First. For a decade, this statewide policy and advocacy organization has played a major role in health care reform. Now it is looking to the future and building its capacity to assure consumers of access, quality and equity in health care reform.
“Maryland has been a long-time leader in health care reform, but there is still so much work to be done. Some have described reform as a marathon and not a race. We recognize that and will continue to place the consumer at the center of all future reforms. With our new name, our new 501(c)(3) status and our first executive director, we are poised to expand our efforts on behalf of all of Maryland's health care consumers." said Co-founder and President Leni Preston.
