Our 2nd Annual Engagement Symposium was held on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m at the the Unitarian Universalist Church in Annapolis. We thank the Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of Maryland for their on-going support.
Presentations provided an overview of two of Maryland's major reform initiatives: (1) expansion of access to health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act and Maryland Health Benefit Exchange and (2) the state's unique delivery system transformation - New All-Payer Model. Panelists discussed both the challenges and opportunities and woven throughout will be a discussion of the role of health literacy and the importance of increased consumer engagement.
The day's keynote speaker was Lynn Quincy, Associate Director of Health Reform Policy at Consumers Union. She is just one of a great line up of speakers. View the agenda of the day's events to see the other state and national health care reform leaders who spoke.
